Customer Appreciation Weekend—October 13 & 14, 2018

We will be having a customer appreciation/Open House weekend on October 13 & 14, 2018.

The store will open 1 hour later on the Saturday that weekend to allow for us to prepare for the event.  Event will run as follows:

October 13:  10am to 6pm

October 14:  10am to 5pm

Come out and enjoy the following:

• Estate and consignment items – this will be laid out in one of the bays of the garage next door due to the space it takes up
• in-store specials (will be posting a few to Facebook the week before the event)
• a customer appreciation draw
• hot drinks and goodies

Grey Central Railway Club Model Train Show—This Saturday September 15, 2018

With the onset of fall comes the train shows and this weekend there is one close to all of our customers that are in the Grey/Bruce Area. The Grey Central Railway Club will be hosting their Annual Open House and Train Show this Saturday, September 15, 2018 from 10am to 4pm. It is located at the Participation Lodge five minutes east of Holland Centre.

For those that do not want to drive down to the cities where the majority of the shows are happening this is a great way to take in a train show close to home.

This event will feature the Grey Central Railway Layout operating, a few additional layouts are usually brought in for the event, and a selection of vendors selling railway items and supplies.

So come on out and support a local train show.

Used Area Expansion

Over the summer we have been expanding our operations to include a dedicated area that supports estates and consignments.  While this first started as something that we were just going to run through the summer months, we have now decided to continue on with it year round.

Our used area is being redesigned as a permanent location in one of the big bays of the garage located next to the store.  Hours for the used area are slightly different than the store, operating Sat and Sun from 11am to 4:30pm.

As time goes on we hope to have some of this stock also added to our website.

Custom Building and Repair Services Available

With fall coming again and train season firing up many are starting to find items that need repair.  We can help with those items that are not running to their full potential.  We offer repair and decoder installing services.  Repairs can be dropped off or shipped in as well.

We are now offering custom structure building services, too.  If you have a building that you wish custom built feel free to let us know and there is a good chance it can be scratch built for you.  It does not need to be a custom structure either.  If you have a structure kit you would like built that is something that can also be done.  Many people feel they are not good at structure building, this is the way you can get that structure you want for your layout. 

Nottawasaga Model Railway Auction

The Nottawasaga Model Railway Auction is Saturday, October 28, 2018 in Stayner, ON.

Hours update

Hard to believe that summer has flown by and we are heading into fall.  With fall comes new store hours.  The following are the new current hours.

Friday – Noon to 8pm

Saturday – 9am to 8pm

Sunday – 10am to 7:30pm

Watch our website for our hours to scale back as our ice cream side of operations wind down.

Riding the Rails Exhibit

The Riding the Rails exhibit is now open at the Bruce County Museum. 

Watch the train leave the station Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 1:30pm.

This exhibit has been a long time in the making with many hours devoted to the project.  Take some time and visit this wonderful exhibit.
